Big News!

Eli is potty-trained!  As suspected, peepee bribery was the only worthwhile course of action.  Peepee in the potty, get a new truck.  It worked well, and thanks to an amazing clearance at Target (John Deere brand tractors and truck for 90% off!), it didn't cost us a lot of money.  With only about a week of peepee bribery, Eli was completely diaper free.  He relapsed a little at night, and after three straight 2am sheet changes, we went to Pull-Ups at night.  He was very concerned at first, but once he was convinced they weren't diapers, he was all in.  I think even he was sick of the 2am wake-up call.  Amazingly, he has kept his Pull-Ups dry every night!

Our favorite quote of the whole experience occurred when Patrick reminded Eli not to poop in his diaper, "Eli, poopy wants to be in the potty, not in your diaper, ok?"  In a condescending tone, Eli replies, "Daddy! Poopy can't talk!"
