At 13 months Eli loves to (Surprise!) be with mommy more than anything else. He refuses to walk and desires to be carried everywhere. When I don't give in to his demands, he screams and cries and gets on his knees reaching up to me, tears flowing freely. When I continue to ignore his plea, he pulls out all the stops, lays facedown on the floor and screams like a banshee. When I walk away, he follows close behind, screaming and wailing. We know he is able, just ask Becky or Grandpa, both have seen him walking proudly. As have we last Saturday at the park when he thought we weren't watching. Rotten thing.
He still only has 7 teeth. Several have been trying to poke through for the past few months, but none have made it.
Eli is becoming more and more vocal saying "Train, choo-choo" and "Thank you" well enough for us to understand. He likes to copy whatever it is we are saying, imitating us on the hunt for "brown shoe" or "mommy's shoes" with surprising proficiency. Calling for inanimate objects while searching high and out and in and low is incredibly amusing to both he and Chlo. He is also getting better and better at play. He likes his musical instruments, building towers, trying to put shapes into shape sorters, and pushing his trucks and trains while making the appropriate sound. Soon he will be toddling around.. and I still can't wait!
