Our kids may receive mixed signals in choosing their prime allegiance, but they benefit from a parental consensus on enemy #1. We had the Duke-Carolina game on TV just before evening church and Eli asked me who I was cheering for. I told him, "Tar Heels." He looked at me thoughtfully and reasoned, "You don't like Tar Heels. So, you don't like Duke more!" The kids' opinions on Duke were sealed when they showed the replay of Hansbrough receiving the Henderson elbow in the game last year. Eli asked me, "Daddy, what's on that Tar Heel?" I told him that it was blood. Eli then declared, "Duke did that blood! Duke's mean! Duke's bad!" For the rest of the evening the kids cheered enthusiastically against the Blue Devils.
