Eli is officially two and a half, today. I can't believe my baby is halfway to kindergarten! Soccer leagues and golf teams are just around the corner.
Eli is an absolute nut, and I love having him around. Not a day goes by, that I don't find myself in hysterics at some point over one of his jokes or pranks. Nor does a day go by when I don't find myself in tears of frustration over some insane stunt.
He is incredibly verbal, and simply amazes me with his ability to communicate. Likewise, his athleticism truly astounds me. I know every parent thinks their kid is awesome, and apparently I'm no different. (Though, I think my kid really is amazing.) He can already throw straighter, jump farther, aim truer, and even run faster than his sister. However, she still has him solidly beat in the puzzle department.
He panics over bizarre things. He will jump into the pool with water well over his head, but he refuses to get within 25ft. of a sprinkler. He will not finish his food if it starts to fall apart (such as the bun slightly falling away from the hamburger as he picks it up). He absolutely freaks out when I put on my glasses in the morning, crying (actual tears) and shrieking, "No glasses! No glasses! Glasses off!" He reacts the same way to my wearing a ponytail if we are not going to the gym or the park.
He is getting excited about the potty, and asks to sit on it at some point every day. I haven't started "training" him at all, since it didn't work last time I tried to train someone. I'm going to wait until he pretty much has the idea down, and then do the same thing we did with Chlo. Peepee bribery.
Eli would rather be outside than watching tv, but he does enjoy his PBSKids. He loves music, and makes me sing pretty much every song in my cache each night before sleep.
He still takes long naps, which makes me happy. He sleeps all night, and plays hard all day.
He is the coolest kid, with the best hair and smile I've ever seen. I can't wait to see what kind of person my little man turns into, but in the meantime, I truly want to savor every (every other?) minute of his childhood because I'm starting to realize his Mommy and me time is quickly fading away.
A visit from the Big Guy!
