Eli has finally reached the one year mark. He had a very happy birthday and really enjoyed all the attention. We had a playdate in the morning and he beamed and clapped and tried to sing along when he was sung to. The same thing at church that evening. He was really relishing all the girls loving on him and singing him the birthday song. We can't wait until the party tomorrow. Should be lots of fun.
At one year Eli is still full of energy. He is 23lbs. and 31ins. He lost 2lbs and grew 3ins since his last check up. He has become much more vocal over the past few weeks adding "bath" "baby" "Go State" and more consonant sounds to his vocabulary. He is trying mightily to repeat things we say. He is still cruising around, taking only a few independent steps.
I praise the Lord for preserving my little family throughout what has proven to be an incredibly trying year. I thank God for putting Eli into my life. I am so grateful that I get to be his mommy. I know the Lord will teach me many, many things through him in the years to come, just as he has during this first precious year of life.
